Dr. Jen Gordon offers extensive, sensory-based, fine, gross and visual motor evaluations for youth with physical, cognitive or developmental delays, or those suspected of delays.
According to section 300 of the IDEA, "A parent has the right to an independent educational evaluation, if the parent disagrees with an evaluation obtained by the public agency ."
This means if a family disagrees with the recommendations for services made by a school-based OT, or other public OT entity, (Whether that is in regards to frequency of services, duration or goals), they have the right to seek an IEE so that an OT can assess the needs of the child, and make recommendations. I will attend the child's Individualized Education Plan meeting (IEP) and fight for the appropriate services for the child.
Dr. Gordon's 30-minute OT treatment sessions are tailored to the developmental level of the child that they pertain to, and to the independent goals agreed upon by the client and family. These sessions include but are not limited to, sensory strategies, fine and gross motor skills, visual motor skills, cognitive and thinking skills, and much more!
Dr. Gordon's 45-minute OT treatment sessions are, again, sensory-driven, with fine and gross motor strategies, as well as client goals-focused so that the child or young adult can adapt and prepare for the next stages of their lives as they venture on in school years, or transition out of school. Some of these sessions may include time management, pre-vocational skills and much more!
CBIT is for anyone with tic disorders (such as Tourette's Syndrome), and is an evidence-based, non-medicinal approach to help with tic relief. The therapy will typically start with the most bothersome tics first and build skills to work towards meeting personal goals in therapy.
Other insurances coming soon.
